This Moodle course is part of the lecture "Foundations of Social Coexistence" in the module "Problematizing knowledge: critical thinking".
The lecture defines the content framework of the module: Students receive an overview of the semester topic "Foundations of Social Coexistence" and are equipped with the context in which they can place the content of their accompanying seminar.
The content focus is on a reflection of basic conditions of social coexistence. Against this backdrop, the two focus areas of the module - "How do societies think?" and "How do societies communicate?" - will be treated in an overview. In doing so, the view is not only directed to the present time, but always also to the historical context. This makes it possible to recognize and assess developments and thus to classify observations on today's social phenomena accordingly.
In addition to content-related impulses, spaces for discussions with and among the students are to be created again and again in order to stimulate deeper reflection on these topics and at the same time to practice discourse in a protected setting.
In order to meet this requirement, the lecture is designed as a flipped classroom. A basic part of the content to be taught will be made available via this Moodle course, while the attendance time will be used for further concretization, exchange with students and discussion of case studies.
