In this seminar, we will explore the borders between creative non-fiction and fiction across a variety of genres such as dramatic monologues, vignettes, personal essays, travel writing as well as excerpts from memoirs and novels. In order to acquire a deeper understanding of these diverse forms of writing, we will read and discuss selected pieces from the various genes, and afterwards, you will gain practice in creating your own pieces. I will provide you with writing exercises and creativity techniques to facilitate your writing process and progress. As a final assignment, you will produce a collection of various fiction and non-fiction pieces.
